Mark Zuckerberg’s Bunker in Hawaii
Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook and Meta Platforms, is creating a secret bunker on Ko’olau Ranch in Kauai, Hawaii. The bunker plants to be 5,000 square feet underground with its own energy and food supplies. The door for the shelter is to be made out of metal and concrete, similar to bomb shelters. It will include a dozen buildings with at least 30 bedrooms and bathrooms, along with treehouses and fitness centers. But why is a billionaire making a large shelter on a tropical island?
The reason why Zuckerberg is making this bunker is unknown. All the construction workers, painters, electricians, and more have signed a strict NDA (nondisclosure agreement). There are six-foot walls blocking the view of the construction from nearby roads. Some people think it's his private escape from the busy world, a quiet place to relax. Others believe it could be a super high-tech space where he tries out new ideas without anyone knowing.
Others are arguing that the construction and maintenance of such this bunker could disrupt local ecosystems. This could lead to harming the habitat and native species. Hawaii has struggled with keeping their environment safe due to rising sea levels and active volcanoes. People think Zuckerberg’s efforts to take a large amount of land and use it for his own private shelter will negatively impact their environment more.
Though there is not a lot of information about this secret bunker, there is a lot of controversy rising due to this topic. Until more information about the bunker comes out, there is no way to tell what the need for it is. What do you think?
